Prize Won By Pattaya Florist In The 2010 Chelsea Garden Flower Exhibition
Nongnuch Botanical Garden received the renowned Asian Culture and Plants Gold Medal in the 2010 Chelsea Garden Flower show. The announcement was done by the Nongnuch Garden Director Dr. Kamphon Tonsatja that said that a Pattaya florist had earned the famous prize. The floristry association of Thailand was delighted by the news and there are plans to present once again at next years exhibition. This was Thailand’s very first entry into the tournament and Thai folks were very happy to have earned the Gold Medal at this prestigious event.
The floral exhibit was created to present the various and exciting tradition of Thailand. The flower arrangement was comprised of several important Buddhist statues along with a Spirit House, flanked by some of the lovely vegetation which are indigenous to Thailand and other areas of South East Asia. The flower arrangement represented Thailand’s culture, heritage and traditions with various parts of the flower arrangement representing the various facets of Thai life and calendar.
The merit was given to by the RHS, the Royal Horticultural Society which was established over 200 years ago. The RHS is the benefactor of The Chelsea Flower Show, among the globe's premier flower shows.
Members of the British Monarchy commented on Thailand’s exhibit and stated it was a brilliant showcase of flowers and an amazing showcase of tropical plants and sculptures.
The top temple in Pattaya has made the decision to have the flower display taken back to Thailand where it's going to be used as part of the decoration for the morning call to prayer for the monks. The flowers is going to be refreshed each day. The gold medal is currently being exhibited in Pattaya in the Nongnuch Gardens.
The Nonnuch flower garden is a beautiful oasis of plants, tropical ferns and palms and a place for Pattaya florists to display their beautiful flower arrangements. Other destinations of the Nongnuch Gardens comprise of Thai culture shows, elephant shows, boating, walking and running.
