Are Plants Really That Important?
Although the flowers that you go out and buy may cost a fair bit and be very important for your partner, they really do not matter to the world. However crops such as peaches, avocados and apricots are almost totally reliant on bees to help them pollinate.
There are so many plants out there that help out both animals and us and here are just two, that without we would certainly die.
Plankton
We know of over 50,000 species and this is just in the lighter parts of the ocean that we can see and although many humans do not see the immediate benefit, animals do. a collection of plankton is known as a boom and one of these booms can sustain billions of creatures. These plankton are mostly found quite near the surface of the water so they can allow light in which of course allows for photosynthesis to occur. Although we may not see the importance of this plant it is very important to note that half of the world’s oxygen is provided by these plants. Without this plankton life would not exist, it is as simple as that.
Fungi
Many people really hate fungi simply because it causes thingsl ike athelets foot and a bit of a mess if it gets into the home but we wouldnt exist without it. Fungi allowed plants to shift out of the sea and onto land all of those billions of years ago and they formed a symbiotic relationship with the plants that still exist today. It also allows a lot of plants to obtain all of the necessary nutrients and water they need from the soil. On top of all of this we would see a lot of dead plants and bodies hanging around if they were not around as they decompose and return the nutrients to the earth.
It is very important that these rather disgusting plants are two of the most important in the world.
